Job Summary

The overall purpose of this position is to perform managed services (IT) related tasks in a retail environment. This employee will deploy and maintain managed services solutions to both residential and business clients while acting as customer service representative and an advocate of the company. This employee is responsible for computer, phone, and tablet repair as well as other various tasks and duties.


Tasks, Duties + Responsibilities

  • Computer Repair - Includes general repair, ensuring proper diagnosis and correct solution for customer

  • Assisting customers in the retail store including recommending solutions

  • Resolving customer issues - includes retail store, computer repair, call center, etc.

  • Ensuring efficiency with computer repair

  • Assisting co-workers in a teammate format

  • Cell phone repairs - includes screen replacements, misc. parts replacement, diagnosing phone problems

  • On-site and remote computer and networks repairs

  • Data recovery for computers and other storage devices

  • Transferring data from one computer to another

  • Perform server maintenance

  • Perform on site maintenance for maintenance contracts including working with enterprise clients

  • Giving customers tutorials on multiple products - includes one-on-one and leading a class setting

  • Professionally interacting with customers

  • All other tasks and duties as assigned


Job Specifications

  1. License: Valid state driver’s license

  2. Education: High School Degree or GED is required and Associates Degree in electronics and/or networking is preferred.

  3. Experience: Five years of past experience is preferred.

  4. Knowledge: Working knowledge of basic and intermediate computer, tablet and mobile phone diagnosing and repair, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  5. Skills: Listening skills, problem analysis, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, and advanced networking skills including core router deployment, testing, tune up, computer, tablet and mobile phone repair. Cat5 cabling and termination.

  6. Abilities: English language comprehension and expression, stress tolerance, adaptability, problem sensitivity, ability to use step ladders, ability to work with power tools, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to operate a computer. Dexterity to effectively use hand tools.


Job Context

Retail store environment. Even and uneven terrain in all types of weather conditions, attics, crawl spaces, confined areas, and aloft working conditions.


Physical Requirements

Standing for extended periods of time, sitting for extended periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, pulling, pushing, climbing and the ability to lift 50 lbs. and transport a minimum of 50 feet.
