Celebrating these stellar educators!

The school year is moving along quickly, and we’d like to thank all the teachers out there for their endurance in the classroom! Our community would not be the same without you and all the efforts you put in, even those that may go unnoticed.

With that said, Lingo Networks, powered by MGW, is excited to share our monthly A+ Educators Awards announcement! These awards serve to highlight teachers and staff members at local schools that are nominated by their peers for going above and beyond in their service to their students and colleagues. The A+ Educators Awards are our way of saying thank you to the teachers and staff making a difference. Each of the current winners will receive a gift certificate to The Depot Grille in Downtown Staunton to celebrate their greatly valued success!

Winner:  Danielle Shields

Position:  English Teacher, English Department Chair

School:  Buffalo Gap High School

Danielle Shields is an outstanding teacher who is respected by her colleagues and administration. She recently earned her Master of Education degree in School Administration.

Beyond her excellence in the classroom, Danielle demonstrates initiative and leadership at the division level.  She is organized, reflective, and eager to learn.  She has served as an administrative intern during June Academy and has played a key role in the planning and implementation of the use of local performance assessments to verify credits in writing.  She is always willing to brainstorm ideas or help out where needed- she's a 'go to' person for both building administration and instructional staff.

Winner:  Adrianna Fauber

Position: Preschool Teacher

School: Riverheads Elementary School

Mrs. Fauber is recognized by her colleagues, administrators, instructional staff, and preschool families as a teacher model for our preschool instructional initiatives.  She consistently provides resources and utilizes strategies to help students with a variety of behavior management or engagement issues.

  • Rest time bags: Tools for students who do not sleep during rest time

  • Bus interventions: Strategies that help our youngest students learn self regulation skills on the bus.

  • Adapted Books: Taking the books that are read aloud to the class and adapting a copy to make it more inclusive and engaging to students with disabilities or developmental differences.

  • Take Home Activities: Activities that are sent home for students in need of intervention, on the cusp of mastering a skill, or to help families engage as educational partners.

Thank you again to these amazing teachers who make such a difference to their students and community!
